Canucks take a try at yoga

Published Jul. 8, 2013 1:00 a.m. ET

How do hockey players, those tough and barbaric hockey players, stay loose in the offseason? With some yoga, of course!

The Vancouver Canucks probably needed a little Zen after getting swept in the first round of the NHL playoffs by the San Jose Sharks.

Now, yoga has been proven to help a variety of athletic skills, as well as other facets of human life such as mood, energy and nutrition. It just goes to show you that those brawny hockey players aren't always chewing on nails in their free time.

On the other hand, some of the Canucks' disappointed fans might already be thinking of them as downward facing dogs.
