Bruins vs. Maple Leafs live stream: Watch online
The Boston Bruins will hope to spoil Auston Matthews’ home debut with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Here’s how you can watch the game online.
Even without Auston Matthews’ historic debut, this was going to be an important game for the Toronto Maple Leafs. This is the first home game of their Centennial season, and so it was only fitting that they would face a fellow Original Six team and long-time rival in the Boston Bruins.
But when Matthews scored four goals against the Ottawa Senators, he had the entire hockey world buzzing. Everyone knew he would make a difference, but nobody thought it would be that soon. And even though he played in front of a ton of Leafs’ fans, the reception he’ll get at the Air Canada Centre will be deafening.
Despite Matthews’ performance, the Maple Leafs still couldn’t get the win. The Bruins did, and that’s all that matters, as far as they’re concerned. And as far as production goes, Brad Marchand actually had a better first game than Matthews.
Despite missing the playoffs last year, Marchand had the best season of his career with 37 goals and 23 assists. He followed that up with a dominant showing at the World Cup of Hockey alongside Sidney Crosby and Patrice Bergeron. But even without those two, Marchand put up five points and led his team to a comeback win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Before the season started, he signed an eight-year extension, and he already looks to be worth the investment.
This game was initially going to be broadcast in just the Boston region, but after Matthews’ debut, it’ll now get a national platform on NBCSN. That means the best way to watch it online is through NBCSports.com or the NBC Sports app. Both require you to log in through your television service provider.
