Bruins beat Czech club Liberec 7-1 in exhibition
Patrice Bergeron had two goals and three assists Tuesday to lead the Boston Bruins to a 7-1 victory over the White Tigers Liberec in their final preseason game.
Nathan Horton scored off a pass from Czech David Krejci to open the scoring at 18:37 in the first period. Bergeron beat goalie Marek Pinc at 2:14 in the second.
Andrej Podkonicky cut the deficit in half for Liberec, the first team from the top Czech league to host an NHL opponent. But Jordan Caron restored the two-goal margin later in the second.
Bergeron, Tyler Seguin, Gregory Campbell and Blake Wheeler completed the rout in the third.
It was the second preseason game in Europe for the Bruins, after Saturday's 5-1 win over the Giants Select in Belfast.
The Bruins open the regular season with two games against the Phoenix Coyotes over the weekend in the Czech capital of Prague.
