Blackhawks' Hossa to miss 2-3 weeks

Published Nov. 30, 2010 12:00 a.m. ET

Chicago Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa will likely miss two to three weeks because of a lower-body injury, leaving the defending Stanley Cup champions without one of their top scorers.

Hossa was injured in a collision with teammate Nick Boynton during Monday's practice and had to be helped off the ice. He also missed five games earlier this season with an upper-body injury.

The latest injury to Hossa, who is fourth on the team with 18 points (eight goals, 10 assists), may slow the momentum the Blackhawks built during on a 4-2-0 road trip.

Chicago recalled forward Jeremy Morin from the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs to take Hossa's place before Tuesday's home game against St. Louis.
