Vikings without 4 defensive starters vs Arizona

Published Dec. 10, 2015 7:35 p.m. ET

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) As expected, the Minnesota Vikings are without four defensive starters for Thursday night's game against Arizona.

Both safeties - Harrison Smith (hamstring) and Andrew Sendejo (knee) - are among those sitting out the game. So are linebacker Anthony Barr (groin/hand) and nose tackle Linval Joseph (foot).

Smith, Barr and Joseph are among Minnesota's top defensive players.

Arizona tight end Jermaine Gresham is inactive as a game-time decision due to a knee injury.

He joins three starters who already had been declared out for the game: running back Andre Ellington (hamstring), cornerback Jerraud Powers (calf) and defensive tackle Frostee Rucker (knee).

Cardinals safety Tony Jefferson, listed as a game-time decision with a hamstring injury, is active for the contest.
