Vikings haven't yet named a starting QB for season opener against the Titans
When Teddy Bridgewater was lost for the season with a torn ACL and dislocated left knee, the Vikings traded their 2017 first round draft pick and a conditional 2018 fourth-round pick to the Eagles for Sam Bradford four days later.
But that doesn't mean he'll be Minnesota's Week 1 starter.
Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer has not yet named a starting quarterback for the season-opener against the Titans, telling reporters on Monday (via ESPN) that Bradford will split the first-team reps with Shaun Hill in practice this week.
Asked what he would need to see from Bradford before deciding he was ready to play, Zimmer said, "It's hard to explain exactly what it would be. Command of the offense. Understanding what we're doing. Know where to go with the ball. Know the checks."
Later, when he was asked if he saw Bradford as a starter at some point this season, Zimmer said, " I don't know. Things change. It's hard to say. I didn't think my quarterback was going to hurt his knee in noncontact drill on Tuesday. Things change. We'll see how it goes."
This isn't the first time these two quarterbacks were a part of the same roster. Hill, 34, started eight games for the Rams in 2014 after Bradford went down with a knee injury.
