Tyreek Hill Speeds Past Coverage for Chiefs Touchdown (Video)

Kansas City Chiefs rookie wideout Tyreek Hill embarrassed the Oakland Raiders secondary with his speed for a go-ahead touchdown early.

Cold weather seemed to greatly affect the start of Thursday Night Football in Week 14 between the Kansas City Chiefs and Oakland Raiders would not be doing it justice. There was a muffed punt by Tyreek Hill after the Raiders’ first drive that led to a field goal and put Oakland up 3-0. However, there were also bad throws and seemingly not a lot of fresh legs.

After his muffed punt, though, Hill’s legs must have gotten a bit of a jolt, though. Meanwhile, it doesn’t seem like the same can be said for the Raiders’ secondary. At the start of the second quarter, those two things combined to make some good news for the home team.

Hill returned a punt after a Raiders three-and-out to midfield (though it was moved back 10 yards for a holding penalty). However, Alex Smith moved the ball well at the end of the first quarter by finding Travis Kelce. And on the first play of the second frame, Hill went on a post as the safeties cheated up on Kelce. That’s not a good recipe as the blazing rookie burned his coverage. Smith found him wide-open and Hill casually sped into the end zone to give the Chiefs the lead:

Man, who would have thought that Hill would become this kind of weapon for KC. But every time he’s left one-on-one or has the ball in his hands, he’s a threat to score.

As stated, that touchdown gave the Chiefs a 7-3 first-half lead. With their defense playing well, that looked like it could be enough in the frigid temperatures. But then again, you never feel comfortable when it comes to what the Raiders have shown in the second half this season.
