Robert Griffin gives some advice to Eagles rookie QB Carson Wentz

Carson Wentz will be under center when the Philadelphia Eagles kick off their regular-season opener against the Browns, and the rookie QB got some advice from a fellow No. 2 overall pick, Robert Griffin III.

"You just have to try and come in and lead by example," Griffin said Wednesday, via "I tell all of the rookies coming in ... Come in and show everybody. Don't tell everybody. Show everybody what you can do in the film room, on the practice field, in the game and let the rest fall where it may."

It's difficult to argue with Griffin's results during his rookie season in 2012, when he threw for 3,200 yards with 20 touchdowns and only five interceptions on his way to Offensive Rookie of the Year honors.

But Griffin, who was taken with the second pick in 2012, has yet to replicate that kind of success, eventually being released by Washington in the offseason and signing with the Browns in March. He's now hoping to get off to a quick start with the Browns, who named him one of the captains on the team, in Week 1.

"I look forward to getting out there and playing against these guys because I know that it's going to be a challenge, but we're going to go out there and be ready for that challenge," Griffin said.
