ST. LOUIS (AP) The St. Louis Rams placed outside linebacker Alec Ogletree on injured reserve-designated to return, three weeks after he had surgery for a fractured right ankle.
Ogletree would be eligible to return for the last two games of the regular season. He would be available if the Rams (3-3) made it to the playoffs. He could return to practice on Dec. 13.
Ogletree was injured in the second half of a 24-22 victory at Arizona on Oct. 4. He still leads the team with 55 tackles, six more than safety T.J. McDonald.
The Rams beat the Browns 24-6 on Sunday, when their defense roughed up Cleveland quarterback Josh McCown. They host San Francisco on Sunday.
St. Louis made several other moves Tuesday, signing defensive tackle Doug Worthington to the active roster from the practice squad, signing safety Christian Bryant and releasing linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar. Dunbar was with the team for two games but did not play.
The Rams also signed defensive end Gerald Rivers and linebacker-defensive end Zack Hodges to the practice squad. Rivers was with the Rams briefly in 2013.
