Pats backup given spotlight on Brady's birthday
Never let it be said that Bill Belichick plays favorites, especially when it comes to Tom Brady.
The New England Patriots' star QB turned 39 on Wednesday and was serenaded by the fans at training camp. But when the media mentioned it to Belichick, the coach reminded everyone that it was backup guard Chris Barker's birthday, too.
Barker, who turned 26, had some fun with the newfound attention.

"I take a little piece of pride every time somebody in the crowd says, `Happy birthday Brady,'" he said. "I just change it to Barker in my head."
Belichick wasn't the only one who remembered Barker's birthday, either.
"Tom did, so that's all I needed right there," Barker said. "In the locker room right before we came out he said `Happy birthday' and I said `Happy birthday' right back."
Add the Belichick birthday shout-out, and "That's a present right there," Barker said. "That's good enough for me."
BB: I don’t think we want to miss Chris Barker’s birthday as long as we’re celebrating.

We agree. HBD, Chris! pic.twitter.com/Q0iN91gSBb
Brady got plenty of love from his fans.
And had some fun with Jimmy Garoppolo after practice.
They made third-string QB Jacoby Brissett carry their pads.
Brady finished up with some drills — no days off for this guy.
At least he has this $20 million birthday gift to come home to. Not to mention Gisele.
