The Jimmy Garoppolo experiment lasted about six quarters, as the young quarterback was injured during the New England Patriots win against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Garoppolo looked very good before the injury, tossing three touchdown passes in the first half. Rookie Jacoby Brissett came on in relief, and the Patriots nearly blew a 24-0 lead. Garoppolo has a sprained AC joint, and is expected to miss 1-2 months.

Sam Bradford had a successful debut for the Minnesota Vikings, leading them to a win against NFC North foe, Green Bay Packers. As the Vikings unveiled their beautiful new stadium, they also unveiled their new quarterback, who played better than anyone could have hoped for. He shook off an early injury to his left hand to lead the Vikings to a victory, as Minnesota won the game 17-14. Bradford threw for 286 yards and two touchdowns in the game.

The Los Angeles Rams won their first game back in L.A. on Sunday, in a big of a yawner. Playing against the Seattle Seahawks, the Rams defense played well all game, holding Russell Wilson and company to just a field goal. Los Angeles managed to muster nine points in the contest, as Case Keenum did not turn the ball over once. They are going to struggle this season, but a win against the Seahawks has to feel good for head coach Jeff Fisher.

Andrew Luck and company headed to Denver on Sunday to face the Broncos, and he had a long afternoon. The Denver defense was as good as advertised, holding Luck to under 200 yards passing. Aqib Talib had a pick-six in the game, as his third quarter interception was a turning point in the game. It was not all good news for Denver, as star defensive end DeMarcus Ware fractured his forearm in the victory.

The attention turns to Chicago on Monday night, as the Bears will play host to Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles are coming off an impressive victory against the Cleveland Browns in Wentz’s debut, where the rookie threw for over 270 yards and two touchdowns. The Bears struggled in an opening week loss to the Houston Texans, and will now look to get right against the Birds.
