Colts P McAfee returns to practice

Published Oct. 21, 2010 12:57 p.m. ET

Colts punter Pat McAfee has returned to practice, a day after being arrested for public intoxication and drawing a one-game suspension.

McAfee, who missed practice on Wednesday, was not available for comment after a short Thursday morning session.

Police say McAfee was found early Wednesday morning with a blood-alcohol content of 0.15 percent, nearly twice the legal limit for driving in Indiana. Police said McAfee swam in a city canal in the city's Broad Ripple neighborhood.

The team said McAfee will miss the Nov. 1 game against Houston. The NFL may also levy punishment.

Coach Jim Caldwell said the team is examining options to replace McAfee, who punts and kicks off. He said kicker Adam Vinatieri is capable of handling all kicking duties.
