49ers to host WR Jerry Rice Jr. for a tryout
Wide receiver Jerry Rice Jr. will look to apply what he learned at last weekend’s rookie minicamp with the Ravens to this weekend’s tryout with the 49ers.
Rice, who is the son of Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, announced the news via Twitter:
Working for the next opportunity... Appreciate the ravens for getting my feet wet... Now preparing for #49ers this weekend.. Leggo!

Despite not signing with the Ravens, he told The Baltimore Sun that the team noted his “hands, competitiveness and quickness and will have him on their emergency list of players to consider.”
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound wide receiver, who caught 11 passes for 86 yards for UNLV in 2013, has a rare opportunity to play for his father’s team. Rice Sr. helped the 49ers win three Super Bowls.
