The Milwaukee Bucks brought Kenyon Martin into the locker room in part because of his relationship with former teammate Jason Kidd, who's now the team's coach. But Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports that the bond is coming to a close soon:

After a flurry of trades, the Milwaukee Bucks plan to waive forward Kenyon Martin, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

The Bucks needed to clear a roster spot after deals to acquire guards Michael Carter-Williams and Tyler Ennis and center Miles Plumlee.

Martin, 37, had been signed to consecutive 10-day contracts earlier this season before Milwaukee guaranteed his deal for the season.

Martin had missed five straight games before the All-Star break with an ankle injury. He averaged less than two points and two rebounds in 11 games for Milwaukee. Martin was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2000 NBA draft and has played 15 seasons in the league.

It's goodbye to the past, and hello to the future in Milwaukee today.
