Who's running the Nets now? Mikhail Prokhorov explained

The Nets let go of their general manager and head coach Sunday morning, leaving the team virtually without a captain for the present. So, only six weeks away from the NBA trade deadline, the questions became about who picks up the phone if someone actually wants to make a deal with Brooklyn in the next few weeks.

Owner Mikhail Prokhorov explained Monday while talking to media:

"We have assistant GM, Frank Zanin, and all the teams know who to call. If he needs me, I will just contact with him every day."

Zanin has been the team's assistant general manager over the past two years. He began his career with the 76ers back when Billy King, the recently fired Nets GM, was Philadelphia's general manager.

We would be remiss not to mention Dmitry Razumov during this whole process, as well. Razumov, the Nets chairman of the board of directors, has had a loud voice in Brooklyn's personnel decisions since Prokhorov's arrival, though he has stayed away from speaking publicly on behalf of the team.
