Sam Mitchell: 50-50 chance Nikola Pekovic returns Wednesday vs. Nuggets
Nikola Pekovic hasn't played an NBA game in almost 10 months, but he may be stepping onto the hardwood for the first time since March 11 on Wednesday when the Timberwolves take on the Nuggets.

Even if it's only 50-50, that's great news from Mitchell, who's been watching Pekovic rehab his Achilles injury ever since the big man sustained it during a game against the Suns last March.
You have to imagine Pek will ease into the rotation. Achilles injuries are about as serious as they come, and the Timberwolves already have two competent centers in their rotation: Karl-Anthony Towns and Gorgui Dieng. Still, this is an uplifting story over all else. Pek has spent each year of his career dealing with some kind of injury. Now, it's just nice to hear good news about him getting back onto the court for the first time in a long while.
