Report: Grizzlies need two days to gauge Conley's status after surgery

Mike Conley has undergone surgery to repair facial fractures suffered during Memphis' Game 3 win over Portland. But the team still doesn't know how long he'll be out of action.

Here's Yahoo Sports/FOX Sports 1 NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski with the latest on one of the NBA's most significant stories.

"There are scenarios in which Conley could return in a possible Western Conference semifinal series against the Golden State Warriors, league sources said, but that’s uncertain until the healing process begins, the pain lessens and Conley can be fitted for a mask."

If Memphis is without its star point guard for the rest of the playoffs, it can kiss winning its first championship goodbye. The odds of them taking the Warriors down were already extremely slim even with Conley at full strength.

But if he can somehow play through the paint, don't count the Grizzlies out. They thrive when their back is against a wall.
