Nets might have messed up their Jewish Heritage Night promo
The Nets may not have perfected the art of basketball, but one thing they do close to perfectly every season is Jewish Heritage Night. Last season, Brooklyn went all out for its tribute, which it does annually during Chanukah.
The Nets busted out a giant menorah. They lit the Chanukah candles. They had other Jewish-themed entertainment. It was thoroughly entertaining for anyone who was in attendance. And presumably, the Nets will be calling for similar festivities at this year's Jewish Heritage Night, planned for Thursday evening's game against the 76ers. Except there's one problem: The shirts they're giving out aren't actually Hebrew.
The Nets' official Twitter account shared a picture of Brook Lopez holding up the Jewish Heritage Night shirts, but the tweet has since been deleted.
It appears someone forgot at some point that Hebrew is written in the opposite direction of English, because the first word, which is supposed to say "Represent"—as in the Nets' slogan, "Represent Brooklyn"—is backwards, the equivalent of writing Tneserper Brooklyn.
It appears this year's Jewish Heritage Night has a hiccup. But it's the thought that counts, right?
