Kurt Rambis thinks Jerian Grant could benefit from playing in D-League
New York Knicks interim head coach/highly specific hacker victim Kurt Rambis has an idea for rookie guard Jerian Grant.
It's weird, but hear him out: Maybe the Knicks could get their first round draft pick more NBA experience by sending him down to the D-League.
Taking a page directly from the Byron Scott Bible of Coach-ery, Rambis explained to media Friday how very committed the team is to developing its rookie guard into an NBA talent by not playing him in the NBA.
According to ESPN's Alan Hahn, Rambis wants Grant around for practices, but thinks a stint with the Westchester Knicks might serve as a nice nursery setting for his personal growth.
Rambis says #Knicks are still very high on Grant but wants him to learn while watching. Suggested D-League stint may be good for him.

He's not wrong. If you flash freeze and vacuum seal your first-rounders, it locks in the flavor and they last longer. They also soak in invaluable experience and fridge-smell. And if they're still not ready when you take them out of the D-League freezer, you can always tuck them in the crisper drawer.
In Rambis' defense, Grant hasn't had the best of years. He's averaging 3.6 points on 11.6 minutes over the last 11 games and 4.8 points a game on the season. And while the Knicks do tend to win games where Grant plays more minutes, that's likely the product of subbing during garbage time.
