Kevin Garnett: 'Every time I go to Boston I'll have that sentimental feeling'
Kevin Garnett just played one revenge game Sunday, going against his former team, the Nets, at Barclays Center. Now, it's onto another.
Garnett often sits in the second half of back-to-backs, but he might have to step onto the court for Mondays game in Boston, where he starred for the Celtics for years and helped bring the franchise and fan base a title back in 2008.
When comparing his times in both Brooklyn and Boston, Garnett made it apparent that he holds his years with the Celtics just a bit closer to his heart.
From Kent Youngblood of the Star Tribune:
Garnett didn't score against his old team at Barclays Center, but he did pull down seven boards and play a solid defensive game. That's KG at this point: not flashy at all, willing to do all the dirty work. Now, we just have to hope he's willing to play—if only for a few minutes—while he's in Boston.
“New York was great,” Garnett said. “The living experience there, I will probably have that for the rest of my life. Playing there was different. Playing before the crowd in Brooklyn was dope.”
But, of course, Boston is a little closer to Garnett’s heart. That’s where he won his only NBA title.
“Right, Boston a little more than Brooklyn,” Garnett said. “Just because the times and the memories are more impactful memories. But both were good times.” [...]
“Every time I go to Boston I’ll have that sentimental feeling,” Garnett said. “But, all in all, all good. That’s what you want. All good.”
