Kevin Durant’s impressive scoring streak comes to an end after knee injury
It’s been eight years almost to the day since Kevin Durant last failed to reach double figures in scoring, but the Golden State Warriors’ All-Star failed to score even one point Tuesday at Washington after he left in the first quarter with a hyperextended left knee.
Durant, who is scheduled to have an MRI, had scored at least 10 points in 562 consecutive games before his untimely injury, which occurred with 11:03 left in the first quarter of the Warriors' 112-108 loss.
The last time Durant failed to get to double figures was February 27, 2009, when he scored six points with the Thunder in his second season in the NBA. LeBron James has the longest current streak at 772, less than 100 games shy of Michael Jordan’s all-time mark of 866.
