Iman Shumpert hopes to make season debut Friday against Orlando

Published Dec. 11, 2015 10:26 a.m. ET

Iman Shumpert has yet to play for the Cavaliers this season, after suffering a wrist injury just before training camp that required surgery and was expected to sideline him for up to three months.

He appears to be on track to return a little bit ahead of schedule, and possibly in time for Fridday night's contest against the Orlando Magic.

Shumpert was a key rotation player for the Cavs last season, and averaged 7.2 points and 3.8 rebounds in 24.2 minutes per game off the bench. He posted this a short time after the initial reports, which seems to confirm that Friday will indeed be the night he returns.
