Ed Davis: I'm going to grind every night

The Portland Trail Blazers will undoubtedly miss the steady production of LaMarcus Aldridge, but his replacement at the power forward spot is already promising to bring a great effort every time he steps on the floor.

Ed Davis was one of Portland's biggest free agent signings this offseason, and he'll be tasked with helping to fill the hole created by Aldridge's departure.

Here's what Davis told Joe Freeman of The Oregonian:

Moments after he verbally agreed to a 3-year, $20 million contract with the Trail Blazers, Ed Davis promised to provide infectious energy and give everything he had, every night.

"I'm going to go out and grind," the 26 year-old power forward told The Oregonian/Oregonlive. "I'm not shooting a whole bunch of threes and things like that. But I'm going to grind every night, I'm going to dive for that loose ball, get that extra possession, make a big block. I'm one of those energy guys. I'm going to bring it every night. That's my main thing."
