Blazers' Lillard to miss game for first time in his NBA career
In an age of rest and recuperation, there's something to be said for players who go out there and entertain the fans on a nightly basis. We understand why teams give guys the night off, of course. But we also respect players like Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard. The Blazers have played 275 regular-season games in Lillard's career. He's played -- and started -- in all of them.
Unfortunately, that streak comes to an end on Monday, as the Blazers announced Lillard would sit against the Atlanta Hawks with plantar fasciitis in his left foot:

Lillard has also added 16 playoff games to his resume in his time in Portland.
Former Los Angeles Lakers forward A.C. Green owns the record for most consecutive games played in NBA history at 1,192. As for active streaks, Los Angeles Clippers center DeAndre Jordan is the NBA's current Iron Man, having played in 350 consecutive regular-season games. Cleveland Cavaliers big man Tristan Thompson is second, having appeared in 313 straight regular-season games. Los Angeles Lakers big man Brandon Bass entered the season second to Jordan, but several missed games to start the year ended his streak.
