Truck Series race at Gateway under way after long rain delay

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 12:20 p.m. ET

After a rain delay of more than two hours past the scheduled start, Saturday's Camping World Truck Series race at Gateway Motorsports Park just outside of St. Louis finally is under way.

If more weather interferes and the race cannot be completed Saturday night, it likely will be rescheduled for completion Sunday -- although that poses problems because many of the spotters and pit crews used in the Truck Series also work in the Sprint Cup Series, which will run the Quicken Loans 400 at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday afternoon.

Qualifying for Saturday's race was rained out, so the starting lineup has been set by fastest lap times registered in the one and only practice that was able to be run prior to the event. That put Erik Jones on the pole, with Cole Custer alongside him.
