Sadler returns to TRG, Cup

Hermie Sadler is back.

Sources told FOXSports.com the native of Emporia, Va., will attempt to make his return to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Martinsville Speedway on April 3.

Sadler, 41, ran one Cup race last season, driving for TRG in the fall race at Martinsville Speedway. He finished 26th then, his first Cup outing since 2006. Overall, Sadler has made 60 career Cup starts. He also competed regularly in the Nationwide Series from 1994-98 and has driven on at least a part-time basis in that series since 1992. He has two Nationwide victories with 44 top-10 finishes, 18 of them top fives.

Sources also told FOXSports.com that TRG will shift from Chevrolets to Fords following that race.

The team has made a crew chief change for this weekend. Paul Chapprood will serve as the interim crew chief at Auto Club Speedway, where rookie contender Andy Lally will drive the car. Chapprood replaces Jay Guy, who has joined Travis Kvapil’s Front Row Motorsports team beginning this weekend.
