Red Bull changes impact Elledge

Crew chief Jimmy Elledge is out at Red Bull Racing, along with most of the men on the No. 83 NASCAR Sprint Cup team.
Elledge, 40, joined Red Bull a little more than two seasons ago.
Elledge said he’s “not sure yet” what his plans are for next season. With the understanding that Kasey Kahne was joining the organization and bringing his entourage to the team for 2011, Elledge expected he would be on the way out. He did not have a contract beyond this year.
“Didn’t have a ‘Plan B’ and don’t have one as of yet,” Elledge said. "Just the way things are going right now, it’s no secret that Kasey is coming and bringing (crew chief) Kenny (Francis) and he’s bringing some people that he’s working with. With Brian (Vickers’) situation, he’s coming back. So we had three crew chiefs, three drivers and two race cars. So that ends up putting a group of people out. And not having a contract, I’m sure that measured into it.
“It’s unfortunate. I liked working here. It’s a good group of people. We’ll see what’s next.”
Elledge said some of his highlights during his short tenure were working with A.J. Allmendinger (“the reason I came here in the first place”), Mattias Ekstrom and Kahne.
