Richard Childress Racing will field a fourth Daytona 500 entry as RCR Xfinity Series driver Brian Scott will attempt to join full-time RCR Sprint Cup drivers Ryan Newman, Austin Dillon and Paul Menard in the 57th edition of The Great American Race.
Scott, who has logged a total of seven career Sprint Cup starts -- all for RCR -- won the pole last spring at Talladega. CATCHFENCE.com reports that Scott will compete at Daytona in a No. 29 car, marking the first time RCR has utilized the number since Kevin Harvick's final race with the organization at Homestead-Miami Speedway in November 2013.
