We asked. You, the race fans, responded.

The question posed Friday evening was simple: Which of these drivers currrently on the outside looking in has the best chance of racing his way into the Chase for the Sprint Cup in Saturday night's Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond International Raceway?

The choices were: Ryan Newman, Kasey Kahne, Ryan Blaney, AJ Allmendinger -- or none of the above.

Newman is the only one of the four driver choices not already mathematically eliminated from making the Chase via points, although he almost certainly would have to win the race to get in. The other three definitely would have to win for the first time this season (and in the case of Blaney, a rookie, for the first time ever).

As of 6:30 p.m. ET when the poll closed after being viewed by nearly 13,500 readers, Newman was given the fans' nod with 31 percent of the vote.

Kahne was second at 26 percent, "none of the above" third at 22 percent, Blaney fourth at 17 percent, and Allmendinger bringing up the rear at 4 percent.
