Pedro Martinez is the new front tire changer for the No. 42 Earnhardt Ganassi Racing Chevrolet and driver Juan Pablo Montoya in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

Martinez, 22, replaces Trevor Lysne, who was arrested Tuesday and charged with trafficking marijuana in Huntersville, N.C. Lysne is no longer employed by EGR.

“It is something that the team had to deal with it and NASCAR had to deal with it,” Montoya said. “We left it at that. Personally, we made some changes in our crew. And that’s it. We get on with our business to try to win here and that’s it.”

Martinez, a San Antonio native, previously worked with the development team at EGR.
