Martin Truex Jr. gets rough finish at Pocono

Truex, who won the Coca-Cola 600 a week earlier at Charlotte Motor Speedway, pitted with the rest of the lead-lap cars after NASCAR threw a competition caution on Lap 16.

But as Truex was pulling out of his stall in the No. 78 Furniture Row Racing Toyota, he got clobbered hard by Matt DeBenedetto, who was pulling the No. 83 BK Racing Toyota into a stall in front of Truex’s.

When Truex went back on track under caution the left front of his car was scraping the ground, sending sparks flying.  The team was able to make repairs and despite this issue and a later flat tire, Truex managed to finish 19th.

Not where he wanted to be, certainly, but it could have been a lot worse.
