With drama unfolding day after day in a Dover, Del. court room, NASCAR driver Kurt Busch and his ex-girlfriend Patricia Driscoll spent their weekend out and about, but very far from one another.

Last week, Busch was called to the stand to give his account of an incident in which Driscoll acused the Stewart-Haas Racing driver of shoving her head into a wall multiple times after a domestic dispute. Not only did Busch refute her account, but the 2004 Sprint Cup champion also claimed Driscoll was a trained assassin that has killed drug lords in the past.

His testimony sent shockwaves through the sport, and caused Driscoll to issue a statement claiming his comments were taken from a movie script she had been working on.

With the court drama behind them for the week, Busch and Driscoll did not shy away from the public eye this weekend.

Like many racers, Busch made the trek to Tulsa, Okla. for the 29th running of the Chili Bowl Midget Nationals. His first trip to the prestigious dirt track event, the former champion signed autographs for fans and took in the intense indoor action.

While Busch was taking in the Chili Bowl action, Driscoll spent the weekend in Scottsdale, Ariz. for the annual Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction. During Saturday's auction, a 1950 General Motors Futurliner crossed the block with all proceeds going to Driscoll's Armed Forces Foundation. Once the hammer dropped, the sale of the Futurline raised $4.6 million for the troops.

Driscoll was very visible throughout the entire event, standing on stage during the auction and posing with troops in attendance.

A ruling in the no-contact court case playing out in Dover, Del. is expected later this month or early February.
