'Kind, wonderful' Hinton dies of cancer

Pamela Snow Hinton, wife of ESPN.com senior writer Ed Hinton and a prominent figure in motor racing, has died of cancer, ESPN.com has reported, citing family members. She was 59.
Hinton, known as "Snow" by her friends, was a native of Ilion, N.Y., and worked in public relations for drivers including Darrell Waltrip and Dale Earnhardt, according to ESPN.com.
"Snow was every bit as sweet, kind and wonderful as her name is beautiful," said Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage, as quoted by the sports website. "Her family and friends were blessed to have her and are glad that she is at peace now after such a long, difficult battle."
A public memorial service will be scheduled at a later date at the Cathedral of St. Philip in Atlanta, according to the website.
