Kenseth, Keselowski rehash bad blood at Richmond

The boys had at it again in the final race of the NASCAR Sprint Cup regular season.

Matt Kenseth and Brad Keselowski have a history of on-track contact and they had some more Saturday night at Richmond, where Keselowski missed a shift on a restart and then overdrove a corner and hit Kenseth, who then cut a tire, sending his Toyota into the wall.

The incident happened on Lap 336 and it resulted in Kenseth finishing 38th and afterwards ripping into Keselowski.

"I'm sure he'll send a Tweet out or go on a TV show and explain how it wasn't his fault," Kenseth said of Keselowski. "But he knows better than that. He knows his angle was bad and he just drove way up in the corner because he made a mistake and he was trying to make up for it and had no respect for anybody on the outside lane. Unfortunately, we had a wrecked car because of it."

For his part, Keselowski was apologetic.

"I just missed a shift and ruined Matt's day," said Keselowski. "I can understand. I didn't hear what he had to say. But I can understand why he's upset. He deserves to be upset. I made a mistake, and it was kind of crappy for everyone. But hpefully he'll accept the apology. ... That's not what anybody wants to see, including myself."

This is the third year in a row the two have had issues.

In October 2014, Kenseth put Keselowski into a headlock in the garage at Charlotte Motor Speedway after Keselowski rammed him on pit road after the race.

Last fall, Keselowski wrecked Kenseth on a restart at Martinsville, which resulted in Kenseth deliberately ramming into Keselowski's teammate Joey Logano, which in turn earned Kenseth a two-race suspension.
