Fogarty extends Grand-Am Rolex Series pole record

Jon Fogarty captured the pole for the inaugural Grand-Am of the Americas Rolex Series race on Friday, extending his all-time series pole record to 24.

Fogarty, driving the No. 99 Corvette DP, had a fast lap of 101.848 mph (2 minutes, .179 seconds) on the new Circuit of the Americas road course, which debuted in November by hosting the U.S. Grand Prix Formula One event.

Fogarty will co-drive with Alex Gurney this weekend.

The GT class pole was won by Alessandro Balzan, in the No. 63 Ferrari 458. In the GX class, Dr. Jim Norman took the pole in the No. 38 Porsche Cayman.
