Ex-Petty crew chief joins Tommy Baldwin Racing

Tommy Baldwin Racing announced on Monday that Kevin Buskirk will be the new crew chief for the No. 36 Toyota and driver Mike Bliss.
Buskirk was crew chief for the No. 19 Dodge and Elliott Sadler at Richard Petty Motorsports prior to being reassigned with the company in August. The former Modified racer won events on dirt and asphalt before bringing his expertise to NASCAR at Robert Yates Racing, Richard Childress Racing, Dale Earnhardt Inc. and RPM.
The addition of Buskirk will relieve some of the competition responsibilities and allow Baldwin to concentrate on the company’s operations.
“Kevin’s somebody that I felt comfortable turning things over to him,” Baldwin said. “After growing up in the business and being fully engaged in the process, I knew Kevin was someone I could trust with the responsibility.
“We have a good group going together. Right now we’re planning on running 24 of the 36 races. I’m wheeling and dealing and trying to find money like everyone else.”
