Dakoda Armstrong, who drove his full NASCAR Nationwide Series season in 2014 with Richard Petty Motorsports, will return as a full-time driver for RPM in the 2015 season of the newly rebranded NASCAR Xfinity Series, the organization announced on Tuesday.

Returning along with Armstrong, who finished 13th in points as a rookie in last year's Nationwide standings, is sponsor WinField. Armstrong will have a new crew chief, however, as former Front Row Motorsports Sprint Cup crew chief Frankie Kerr takes over the role previously held by Philippe Lopez, who has been promoted to the position of operations manager for RPM.

Armstrong, 23, looks forward to a second season driving the No. 43 car in NASCAR's No. 2 series for the company co-owned by NASCAR Hall of Famer and seven-time champion Richard Petty.

"I'm excited to continue racing for The King," Armstrong, who recorded only three top-10 finishes last season, said in team release issued Tuesday. "Philippe and I had a good relationship and I feel like I learned a lot in my rookie season with the No. 43 team.

"I'm looking forward to continuing that growth into my second season. Now with Frankie coming on board, I think we'll be able to get our communication more in sync. We both come from an open-wheel background and he can relate the open-wheel style of driving to the stock cars."

WinField, an agricultural company, will be the primary sponsor on Armstrong's car for 23 races in the 2015 season.
