Confusing top 35 rule should give way to franchising

With less than 24 hours before the transporters had to be loaded and ready to roll for Daytona Beach, Fla., there were still NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams wondering whether or not they had a guaranteed starting spot for the season-opening Daytona 500.
