A memorial kart race in honor of the late Dan Wheldon near his English hometown has so far attracted Formula One champion Jenson Button, IndyCar champ Dario Franchitti and Le Mans winner Guy Smith.
Race organizer Johnny Mowlem, a friend of Wheldon's, says the two-hour kart endurance event will be on Dec. 5 at Daytona Milton Keynes, about 10 miles from Wheldon's Emberton hometown.
Others who have agreed to race with some of Wheldon's family include former British F1 driver Anthony Davidson, and world touring car title contender Rob Huff.
Wheldon was killed in a crash in the IndyCar Series finale at Las Vegas on Oct. 16.
