Brad Keselowski wrecks hard during Sprint Cup testing at Watkins Glen

Brad Keselowski's first day of testing at Watkins Glen International didn't go according to plan.

On Tuesday afternoon during the first of a two-day NASCAR Sprint Cup Series test, Keselowski crashed hard after a brake failure going into Turn 1 on a newly repaved Watkins Glen road course.

According to Team Penske officials, Keselowski was evaluated and released from the infield care center.

Afterward, Keselowski tweeted a picture of his destroyed No. 2 Team Penske Ford, his mangled steering wheel and a GoPro video showing the moment of impact from inside the car.

This isn't the first time the 2012 Sprint Cup champion has found trouble during a test session at a road course just days before a race at Pocono Raceway.

In August 2011, Keselowski suffered one broken ankle, one cut ankle, myriad bruises and bangs, and a cut and blistered right hand during a test at Road America in preparation for Watkins Glen.

Miraculously with all the injuries, Keselowski came back that same weekend at Pocono to win his second career Sprint Cup race.
