Bar Refaeli: Danica Patrick is 'amazing,' could be a model

Danica Patrick has fought the perception that she’s just a pretty face ever since joining NASCAR in 2012. Her racy Go Daddy commercials certainly don’t help that perception, and neither will this latest comment from supermodel Bar Refaeli.

Refaeli, who starred with Patrick in a 2013 Go Daddy spot, recently told USA TODAY’s For The Win that she believes Danica would be a great model.

“I think she’s amazing,” Refaeli said.

NASCAR Hall of Fame driver Richard Petty and his son, Kyle, don’t agree, both going on the record in recent years to say Patrick is more marketing machine than serious racer. Others also have questioned Patrick’s off-track relationship with driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and her occasional on-track blowups.

To be fair, Patrick is in an extremely tough spot. She needs to market herself - as all NASCAR drivers do - while trying to remain credible on the track. Victories and less comments about her looks would go a long way.
