IndyCar race at Pocono postponed due to rain

Published Aug. 21, 2016 3:04 p.m. ET

The ABC Supply 500, initially scheduled to run on Sunday, has been postponed until Monday due to rain.

Weather rolled in across the speedway in Long Pond, Pa. a couple of hours ahead of the scheduled green flag. Featuring mostly flat banking, the 2.5-mile speedway takes a while to dry, and rain is expected for the rest of the day. Alternatively, there is a low chance of rain - 10 percent according to Weather.com - for Monday.

The green flag will fly at 12:09 p.m. ET, reports IndyCar, with Mikhail Aleshin set to lead the field away for the first time in his IndyCar career. Coverage of the race will start at noon ET on NBCSN.
