WHAT IT MEANS:

Diabetes mellitus is a group of diseases characterized by high blood glucose levels that result from defects in the body's ability to produce and/or use insulin. ADA leads the fight against the deadly consequences of diabetes and fight for those affected. Nearly 29 million children and adults in the United States have diabetes and another 86 million Americans have pre-diabetes and are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes. Recent estimates project that as many as 1 in 3 American adults will have diabetes in 2050 unless we take steps to Stop Diabetes.

ADA saw BowTie Cause as an opportunity to raise awareness about diabetes in a new and creative way. This bowtie was designed based on the American Diabetes Association Logo. The logo is unique and makes the bowtie pop.
