Royals prospect Bubba Starling exits game on cart

Published Jul. 20, 2015 4:20 p.m. ET

Royals prospect Bubba Starling left Saturday's game for Double-A Northwest Arkansas on a cart after crashing into the outfield wall.

Starling also lost his glove on the play, during which he attempted to rob a home run. According to Naturals manager Vance Wilson, Starling suffered a bruised knee, likening the injury to a catcher taking a foul tip.

Starling, who was a first-round pick for the Royals in 2011, is hitting .291 with seven home runs 18 triples and 29 RBI in 63 games between Class-A Wilmington and Double-A Northwest Arkansas this season.
