Orioles prospect Pat Connaughton signs with NBA's Portland Trailblazers

Pat Connaughton might have pitched his last game in the Baltimore Orioles system.

The pitching prospect was a two-sport athlete at Notre Dame, excelling enough at basketball to be drafted by the Portland Trailblazers in the second round.

He has signed with the team.

Connaughton has said before that he wasn't able to choose between the two sports, but it seems as though he's made a choice.

The Baltimore Sun has reported, though, that if he chose to play basketball, the team could look to recoup his signing bonus. It will certainly be interested to see what steps the Orioles take now that he has officially signed.
