The Mets have agreed to a contract with first-round draft pick Matt Harvey that includes a $2,525,000 signing bonus.

The deal was completed shortly before Monday's midnight EDT deadline.

Harvey was selected No. 7 overall out of North Carolina, where the 21-year-old right-hander went 8-3 with a 3.09 ERA in 14 games this season. He struck out 102 and walked 35 in 96 innings.

The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Harvey was 22-7 with a 3.73 ERA in 54 games, including 43 starts, during three years with the Tar Heels.

Harvey was drafted in the third round (118th overall) by the Los Angeles Angels in 2007 but did not sign. He is from Mystic, Conn., about a 2 1/2-hour drive from the Mets' home ballpark, Citi Field.
