Lightning-quick cat interrupts Angels game to run across the field

Published May. 13, 2016 9:53 a.m. ET

The St. Louis Cardinals-Los Angeles Angels game was briefly delayed in the fourth inning on Thursday night because a cat sprinted onto the field. This isn't the first time an animal has invaded a game -- it happens more often than you think -- but cats aren't the usual perps.

This particular feline, though, was incredibly fast and probably runs a 40-yard dash in the 4.2 range. His vertical is also outstanding, going from the field to the stands with an big leap.

The cat then made its way down the rows of seats before eventually landing in the arms of a fan. Sadly, it can't pitch because the Angles could really use a starter right now given their injury issues.
