Jose Reyes wants to finish career with the Mets

As he returned to New York this week, Jose Reyes was flooded with nostalgia about the good times he had as a member of the Mets, times that he'd like to replicate one day.
After being traded from the Toronto Blue Jays to the Colorado Rockies at this season's trade deadline in a deal that sent Troy Tulowitzki to Toronto, Reyes is eager to play for a contender like the Mets, particularly as he witnesses what he's missing in Toronto.
"At this point, I just want to win. No matter what people say, or whatever people think. I'm at the point in my career where I want to win," Reyes told the New York Times. "If it's here or someplace else, I don't know. Next year, I mean, I should be better. But I don't want to spend the rest of my career playing on a last-place team.
"When I retire, I'm going to go home and say, 'I played for what?' You know, if I don't win anything."
Although he left the Mets after the 2011 season, the shortstop still keeps a home in New York and lives there in the offseason.
After spending eight years with the organization, Reyes has fond memories of playing for the Mets, and has his sights set on wrapping up his career with the team.
"It's not that easy," Reyes said when asked if he'd like to return to the Mets one day. "I'd love to – not now, because I have two more years on my deal. But I'd love to finish my career here in New York. I have some great memories here."
