Brett Lawrie loves emojis, introduces himself to new White Sox fans
Is a trade even completed if a player doesn't tweet about it? Probably not, which is why new Chicago White Sox acquisition Brett Lawrie took to Twitter to say hi (or "whatsssss upppppppppppp") to his new teammates and fans:
The second and third baseman will be playing for his third team in three years, having been traded from the Toronto Blue Jays to the Oakland A's in a package for Josh Donaldson in during the 2014-2015 offseason. This time around, the White Sox gave up a pair of prospects for the Canadian native.
To my new teammates and fans of the @whitesox whatsssss upppppppppppp ???????????????????????????????????

Lawrie also wasn't shy with his emojis, using 15 "celebration hands" emojis and an astounding 20 fire emojis. Sure, that may seem like a lot, but he has a long way to go to catch up to his new-crosstown rivals.
The 25-year-old slashed .260/.299/.407 with 16 home runs in 149 games with Oakland last season.
