Wisconsin's Vince Biegel out for weeks after foot surgery

MADISON, Wis. (AP) Wisconsin linebacker Vince Biegel will miss several weeks after undergoing foot surgery.

Coach Paul Chryst said Friday that Biegel had surgery on his right foot Thursday night. It wasn't clear when Biegel was hurt.

Biegel, a senior, is one of No. 8 Wisconsin's top defenders. He was third-team All-Big Ten last season and has nine tackles and a sack this season. He ranks eighth on Wisconsin's career sacks list with 18.5.

The Badgers (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten) face No. 5 Michigan Saturday at Ann Arbor.
